How of I pay my invoice if my credit card was declined?
There are a few common reasons why cards are declined:
- The card information entered may not match what the bank has on file.
- The payment amount might be larger than the limit set by the card issuer or bank.
- Ensure the credit card number and verification code (usually on the back of the card) are correct. Most credit card numbers are 16 digits long. American Express cards are 15 digits long.
- In addition to the credit card number, you need to enter a verification code. For most cards, like Visa, Mastercard, and Discover cards, it's the 3-digit code on the back of the card. For American Express, it's the 4-digit code on the front of the card.
- Make sure there are no special characters or spaces in the credit card number or other data fields.
- Some, but not all, business credit cards require additional commercial codes to process transactions. Please let us know if your card requires a special commercial code for purchases.
- International credit cards: You may encounter a zip code error with an international credit card. If possible, it's easier to pay with a credit card issued in the United States. Here's what to do if you need to need to pay with an international credit card.
