We sent out our pre-alert message to our alumni. What should we do with all of the bounced messages?

We sent out our pre-alert message for our MBA Alumni Survey and received a lot of bounced messages. What should we do with all of the bounced messages?

Great question. It is not uncommon with Alumni Surveys to have a large amount of bounces as the email addresses of your alumni can be somewhat aged and out-of-date.

The ability to achieve higher response rates is predicated on the accuracy of the alumni email addresses. Thus, if your school is able to locate or supply alternative email addresses for some or all of the 'bounced' or undeliverable pre-alert messages, please alert your Project Manager if you plan to provide another batch of email addresses to replace the undeliverable email addresses.

Dependent on when you are able to provide these updated addresses, we may be able to send out a separate set of invitations to these alumni. We can also extend the fielding period of your survey for these alumni, but this will move out the analysis and delivery of your reports. Please alert your Project Manager if you would like to extend your survey fielding.
