What is meant by "non-degree executive education business" in the UNICON survey?

Most of our open-enrollment programmes are degree-granting, however they are Executive Education degrees in the Swiss system (Certificate of Advanced Studies, 15 ECTS - Diploma of Advanced Studies, 30 ECTS - Master of Advanced Studies, 60 ECTS).

Great question!

Because of this vast array of offerings and the diversity in how universities operate, it can be very difficult to settle on a shared definition of terms for programs. Most executive education courses offered by business schools last between two and six days, but some can take over a year to complete part-time.

Executive education programs are typically non-degree programs, but executive education courses may lead to the award of certificates and may offer continuing education units that are accepted by certain professional bodies.

The accumulation of credits from executive education courses may “stack” to a degree. However, this survey should not include courses that are part of a formalized program curriculum designed to culminate in a Diploma or Master-level.
