What is Power BI and how do I access the EMBAC Dashboard?

What is Power BI?

Microsoft Power BI is a unified, scalable platform for self-service and enterprise business intelligence (BI). It allows users to connect to and visualize any data, infusing the visuals into the apps they use on a daily basis.

Power BI is a common business intelligence tool utilized by business analysts and professionals for data visualization and transforming data sources into coherent, visually immersive, and interactive insights.

It is important to note that you will need either a Power BI Pro or Premium license in order to view a shared dashboard from Percept Research.

How do I access the EMBAC Dashboard?

The Executive MBA Benchmarking Dashboard is provided by the EMBA Council as an interactive tool to help members access industry research. Percept Research hosts the EMBAC Program Survey Survey Dashboard on behalf of the council.

All academic members of the Executive MBA Council in good standing can access the 2022 Dashboard regardless of whether the member school completed the 2022 EMBAC Program Survey.

To access the EMBAC Program Survey Dashboard, the following criteria must be met (in order):

  1. The individual contact (email address) must be listed in the EMBA Council directory;
  2. The member school must be in good standing (current dues paid);
  3. The individual contact must have a license to Power BI Pro or Power BI Premium;
  4. The individual contact must accept the invitation to join the Microsoft Azure Directory (soon to be called Microsoft Entra ID) hosted on https://embacresearchdashboard.org/
  5. The individual contact must accept the invitation to join the current year dashboard.

As an incentive to complete the annual benchmarking survey, access to the industry dashboard (for 2023 data and beyond) will be restricted to academic members in good standing who complete the EMBAC Membership Program Survey.

Starting in 2023, all schools listed in the EMBA Council's directory of academic members will be sent the following email invitations to access the EMBAC Program Survey Dashboard - these invitations will be delivered from Microsoft:

  1. Invitation to join Microsoft Azure Directory (soon to be called Microsoft Entra ID) hosted on https://embacresearchdashboard.org/
  2. Invitation to view year-specific dashboards.
    • The inaugural 2022 Dashboard will be available to all 2023 EMBAC members in good standing - reference this article: Why can I only see 2022 data in the EMBAC Program Survey Dashboard?
    • Starting with the 2023 Dashboard, Percept Research will send academic members who complete the annual EMBAC Program Survey an invitation to view the new Dashboard for each year.
