Why am I seeing a ‘Sorry, we couldn’t find that report’ message?

Why is Power BI stuck on ‘Building your app…’?

In most cases, you will see one of the following messages when the Dashboard has received an update.

When a Dashboard receives an update such as a new set of visuals, it has to be republished in Power BI. This process may require the publication of a new Power BI Application URL (this is the direct link to the Dashboard).

When this occurs, Percept Research will make every effort to communicate these updates to members who already have access. Be sure that you have opted in for these communications. If you are experiencing issues, contact Percept Research at https://link.bschoolresear.ch/EMBACsupport

For example, Percept Research republished the 2022 EMBAC Program Survey Dashboard on January 12, 2024, to reflect the new EMBAC logo. During this process, we had to upload a new Dashboard instance to the Power BI workspace and then update the Power BI Application to point to this new Dashboard (‘report’ in Power BI terms). This means that members who have already accessed the 2022 Dashboard may see a message such as ‘‘Building your app’ or ‘Sorry, we couldn't find that report. It may have been deleted or you may not have access to view it.’

Solution 1: If you previously had access to the current Dashboard, you can simply refresh your browser, and your Power BI will update to the new Dashboard.

Solution 2: Reach out to Percept Research using the link above to ensure you have access to the current Dashboard and have the most recent Power BI Application URL to access the Dashboard.
